Cohen Higgins may be a mother, but she doesn't fight for your kids!
Greetings!:
Danielle Cohen Higgins has a new campaign slogan: “Nobody fights like a mother.”
Well, that depends on whose children need protecting.
In April 2025, Cohen Higgins voted to stop Miami-Dade County from adding fluoride to its drinking water. The measure passed 8–2.
Mayor Levine Cava vetoed it after consulting dentists and medical experts.
Cohen Higgins then voted to override that veto. Now fluoride is gone.
The Centers for Disease Control says fluoridated water greatly reduces cavities in children and adults. That means less pain, fewer fillings, fewer pulled teeth and fewer missed school days.
Fluoridation also reaches families regardless of their income, education or ability to afford regular dental care.
Families with money, like Cohen Higgins', can purchase fluoride treatments, prescription toothpaste, and frequent visits to the dentist.
Families struggling with rent, groceries and insurance have fewer options.
That is why this vote mattered.
Cohen Higgins can print “Nobody fights like a mother” across every campaign mailer she sends.
But when Miami-Dade’s children needed someone to follow the medical evidence and defend a simple, proven public-health safeguard, Cohen Higgins fought — to remove it!
Not from her own bathroom cabinet. From everybody’s drinking water.
Nobody fights like a mother?
Please!
Danielle Cohen Higgins needs to explain why she’s not fighting like a mother for YOUR kids.
